Checking in on Epic Origins ...and a brand new campaign!

Hello, adventurers! It’s been a while since our last update, but we are happy to announce the Call to Adventure love is still strong as Epic Origins was an absolute hit at Gen Con this year!

The experience inspired us to start brainstorming the next version of Call to Adventure. What genre, world, or speculative work do you think we should set the next Call to Adventure in? Sci fi? Fairy tales? Horror? Let us know in the comments!

A New Campaign: Dungeon Kart!

In other news, we are in the final 72 hours of another Kickstarter campaign with Dungeon Kart, a 2-8 player kart racing game set in the world of Boss Monster! Dungeon Kart is a fast and fun implemtation of kart racing on the tableop. It has found itself on many “Best of Gen Con” lists from Dicebreaker, Fandomentals, and more!

We’ve unlocked 23 Stretch Goals so far thanks to over 3,500 backers! There's still time to back the campaign and get all the awesome Silver & Gold awards we designed for Kickstarter. Race over there now!

Well met, adventurers! A year ago this time, we were wrapping up the campaign for Epic Origins. Now this game is designed, manufactured, shipped, and on store shelves ...all thanks to your support!

At this point, our fulfillment partners around the world have reported that all units have been shipped. That means if you haven't received your order, this is a good time to follow up. Please send us a message and we'll work to make sure you get your games. 

The Adventure Begins

And now that you have your copy, we hope you're playing it! Thanks to this game's solo & co-op focus, you can play it whether or not you can gather a party.  Every day we hear from players who are having a great time introducing friends & family to the game, completing the Campaign Mode, and building 5e characters using the conversion guide!

Our Next Adventure

We're a busy bunch at Brotherwise, and our latest project is a collaboration with esteemed game designer John D Clair (famous for games like Space Base, Mystic Vale, and Dead Reckoning). His latest and greatest release is Empire's End, a civilization game all about preventing the fall of an empire.

Players bid resources to keep plagues and barbarians at bay, but before too long, your empire will begin to burn. With crisis comes opportunity, and every disaster that hits your civilization comes with an "innovation" that gives you new powers. This is a game with simple rules but deep strategy, where fortunes can rise and fall in the course of a single turn. We can't recommend it enough, and we hope you'll join us when the campaign launches tomorrow!

October Shipping Update

Hello, adventurers! October is almost over and we thought this would be a good time to send an update on shipping. Overall, it's great news.

1. US shipping is complete! If you have not yet received your order and you live in the US, it's time to reach out to us via the Kickstarter messaging app and we'll look into what went wrong.

2. Canadian, UK, Australian, and EU shipping is all underway! Note that we expect shipping in each of these zone to continue through the first week or two of November, so if you haven't received a notice yet, don't worry!

3. Asian shipping is underway! BUT, it really varies by zone as to how quickly these are getting processed. Some Asian zones have already shipped, but others are only just now getting their product. We know from past experience that Asian fulfillement is often the first to start but the last to finish, so hang in there.

4. Latin America and rest of the world is still coming together. We have been looking for a duty-friendly way to get shipments to Latin American backers and we think we have a good solution. We're working to get that moving asap.

Problems with your orders or damaged products? Please reach out to us via the Kickstarter messaging app and we'll get on that asap. We will do our best to quickly address any and all issues you're having.

Shipping Updates and Combination Guide

Hi all, it's time for another update on Epic Origins fulfillment. We are grateful for your patience as we've faced a longer than expected road to shipping on this project. We're getting very close to the end of that journey in the US, and making good progress in the rest of the world. We can't wait to get this fantastic game into your hands!

US Shipping

The US was the first country to receive units, but the slowest to fulfill. We're sorry for how long US shipping has taken, but very hopeful that this week will be the end of it. To give you some sense of our fulfillment challenges, here's a pic of a typical day's shipments from last week.

The size of the boxes gives some sense of how complex these picks are. We don't have any huge products in this campaign, so those boxes are filled with multiple games, accessories, and promo cards. When we gave our initial projections for shipping time, we were woefully off in calculating how complex the picks would be, and the result has been fewer shipments per day than our fulfillment partner projected.

The good news is that we honestly think we're very close. The majority of games have shipped, and warehouse tells us they're targeting this Saturday for "all games out."

Other Zone Shipping

We're seeing shipping announcements going out for most of our other zones! We expect every other region to be moving very soon.

Asia: Our distributor has shipped out to the sub-shipping locations across Asia, but shipping from those locations will likely not begin for another three weeks.

Australia: We've been told that shipping to all backers will take place on the 17th and 18th.

Canada: We expect shipments to backers to begin next week.

EU/UK: Shipping is scheduled to begin next week.  Initial address checks have begun in the UK, and EU will follow shortly.  Once fulfillment begins, we expect it to move quickly.

Set Combination Guide

Whether you've already received Epic Origins or you're planning ahead, you can now download our Epic Origins Combination Guide! This provides guidelines for combining Epic Origins with the base game, The Stormlight Archive, or The Name of the Wind. For the most part, these games easily shuffle together, but The Name of the Wind set in particular benefits from some card curation. Take a look! You can find the PDF here. 

Our Conversion & Combination Guide page also includes the 5e Conversion Guide (including a new printer-friendly version), so keep it bookmarked if you plan to use Epic Origins for the session zero of an RPG campaign! 

Again, we appreciate your support as we've faced unexpected shipping challenges. We've run a lot of campaigns, and this is the first to encounter so many bumps in the road. At the same time, we've been hearing awesome feedback from people who have already received their copies. We're confident you'll love this game, and we can't wait to hear about the characters and stories you create with it!

Shipping Updates

Hi all,

I just checked in with our US fulfillment hub, and it turns out shipping is moving slower than we expected. Due to bottlenecks in the "order picking" side, we're moving 300 orders a day, much slower than the 500 units a day we'd hoped for. That means shipping will be extending into next week. We apologize for the slow roll out, but the picks are super-complicated for this one and we're trying to get it perfect. Stay tuned.

In other news, Asian fulfillment in under way, but the window for this zone is likely even bigger than the US window, so don't be surprised if you don't see anything for 3-4 weeks.

Australia, UK/EU and Canada are all in final preparations to ship.
